A boxer has died after being shot in a suspected ambush outside a bar in Melbourne, while the gunman remains at large.
Hussein Dehaini was found suffering from suspected gunshot wounds on North Street in Ascot Vale at around 12.15am on Sunday.
Emergency services rushed him to hospital in a critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have established a large crime scene in the area, with several vehicles cordoned off as forensic investigators examine the scene.
The shooting occurred near a local bar, and detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage, or other information that could assist the investigation.
