Gold Coast Hindu community to receive long-awaited cultural precinct through multicultural connect grant

The Gold Coast Hindu Cultural Association will develop a new community precinct in Arundel after receiving a $500,000 Multicultural Connect Grant from the Queensland Government.

The funding is a major milestone for the association, which has spent over 10 years planning a dedicated space for its members.

Queensland Housing and Public Works Minister Sam O’Connor said the project would provide a long-awaited home for the local Hindu community, supporting cultural, social, and community activities.

The planned precinct will include an events hall, kitchen, dining area, and office facilities to serve community needs.

The Multicultural Connect Grants Program offers matched funding of up to $500,000 to help community organisations build or upgrade infrastructure that supports cultural groups across Queensland.

Officials say the initiative is part of broader efforts to promote multicultural engagement and strengthen community cohesion across the state.
