A 74-year-old man from Brisbane has been accused of sexually assaulting 15 women while working as a doctor at a private medical centre in Tarragindi over a period spanning more than a decade.
Authorities have charged him with 148 offences, including 94 counts of rape and 54 counts of sexual assault, allegedly committed between the early 2000s and 2015. Police stated that the alleged victims ranged in age from teenagers to women in their late 40s.
The man, a resident of Highgate Hill, was charged at Upper Mount Gravatt Police Station and is scheduled to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 23.
Detective Senior Sergeant Denis Silk praised the victim-survivors for their bravery in coming forward and stated that police remain committed to pursuing justice. Investigators are also encouraging anyone with relevant information or similar experiences to contact police or provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers.
Support services are being offered to those affected, while investigations continue.
