After more than three decades together, former tennis star and TV host Todd Woodbridge says there is one question about his wife Natasha that he finds disrespectful.
Speaking about their 31-year marriage, Woodbridge revealed that people often ask Natasha what she does for a living — a question he believes overlooks the enormous role she played in supporting their family and his successful tennis career.
“Tash is an incredibly strong-willed and competitive woman,” Woodbridge said. “People sometimes ask her, ‘What do you do for a job?’ and I often step in because I think it’s a rude question.”
According to Woodbridge, Natasha dedicated years to managing their household, supporting his career, raising their children, and handling the challenges that came with life on the professional tennis circuit.
The couple began dating as teenagers after Woodbridge met Natasha through her sister, former tennis player Nicole Provis. By the age of 19, Natasha was travelling with him as he pursued his tennis ambitions, spending much of the next 17 years on the road.
Woodbridge praised his wife for putting the family first and making sacrifices to help them build a life together.
The pair married in their early twenties and moved overseas to support his career. Looking back, Woodbridge described their commitment as unusual in today’s world, saying their relationship required dedication through the highs and lows of professional sport.
The couple are parents to two children — Zara, 25, and Beau, 23 — both of whom have followed their own passions. Beau has built a career in theatre after graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, while Zara has excelled in golf and is studying nutrition with hopes of becoming a dietitian.
Now empty nesters, Todd and Natasha enjoy travelling together and have developed a shared love of golf, often planning holidays around courses they want to play.
Reflecting on their 31 years of marriage, Woodbridge said he is proud of everything they have achieved together and grateful for Natasha’s unwavering support throughout the journey.
